Our latest artist interview part of the artist network brought to you by Counter Culture. This month we are interviewing Joe Regan a photographer thats splits time between California and Hawaii when he's not shooting for fashion industry or travel industry






  So your in Talum, Mexico what are you doing out there?
I was relaxing with a myan shayman and doing some shooting.

When did you get your first camera?
Got my first camera well not really mine when i was in sixth grade it was a polloroid sx-70 I still have and use it sometimes for groovy shoots

How long have you been shooting photos?
I have been shooting for about 9 years before that i was in front of the camera but that is another story

Do you prefer film over digital?
I like the feel of film better there are more dementions to film but i use both of course, clients prefer it due to costs.

You've been shooting alot of travel photography when did you get into that and what are your favorite places to shoot?
I started travel photography just for fun when I was traveling for fashions shoots and I thought to myself why not get paid for this. My favorite spot were the pyramids in Ciro shooting while riding camels.

You also shoot alot of fashion how did you get into that?
I have been into fashion long before shooting it. You either got it or you don't.

What is the best photo shoot you've been on?
I have been on so many cool shoots it's hard to say maybe when I shot Tito Jackson.

What about the worst?
The worst is every bitchy model who thinks she is a star and doesn't have to be nice to anyone.

What was your last campaign you shot for?
The last campaign was 7diamonds for nordstoms

I heard you won a George Michael look-a-like contest is this true?
The George-Michael thing is a bad rumor. I will never admit it

What inspires you to shoot?
I just love shooting people and making them look good

You're a collector of vintage products what are your favorite things to collect?
I collect space age furniture from the 60's and 70's my house looks like the movie space oddessy 2001.
